Feltraiger: Clothes Made with American Pride

by Wednesday, February 5, 2014

Feltraiger is an American menswear label based out of New York City. The name Feltraiger (fel-tray-ger) came from a family who moved to America for a new start. Daniel and Jonathan Feldman, the brands founders, had family who emigrated from Russia to New York City in the early 1900’s. During that time, there were a lot of last names that were changed to be more “American” and they were no exception. Once on Ellis Island, the family name Feltraiger, was changed to Feldman in attempt to make it sound more American. With inspiration from American rebellion as well as other specific American sub-cultures, Feltraiger has carved a path in which they aim to create classic American garments with updated, fresh details. Every piece Feltraiger produces is done so in the United States in limited numbers and built with the intention of being passed down to future generations!
