Originally founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1889 by Hamilton Carhartt, the Carhartt company began a clothing brand targeted solely for the working man, more specifically, the American railroad worker.

Hamilton began making work wear with the goal of setting a standard in excellence that others would aspire to. With only 4 sewing machines and 5 employees, Carhartt Inc. has grown to be a company known all over the world, while remaining a family owned business with its main operating headquarters in Dearborn, MI.

Their products today range from jackets, coats, overalls, coveralls, vests, jeans and even fire resistant clothing. You can commonly find their products on construction sites, farms, ranches, and many other job sites. It’s the perfect gear for the hard-working, hands-on American.
