Sure, a company in the U.S. can produce a car and have it assembled here, but it takes much more than that to make it “American.”

Purchasing a car from an American automaker has not meant that it is one hundred percent “American-Made” in a very long time. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that there truly is no such thing as a car that is completely produced in America anymore. Even the most “American” vehicle runs with an engine that is made and assembled in countries other than the United States.

Twenty years ago, the American Automobile Labeling Act was passed by Congress requiring cars to have labels providing their percentage of U.S. parts, the country of origin for the transmission and the engine, and which country it was assembled. The NHTSA has composed a list of the vehicles for every model year in order to educate the public on what parts are American and the percentage of American parts in each car.

Listed below are the top 10 vehicles that are assembled in the United States using the most American parts of 2013:
