Instead of looking back at Detroit’s history, Shinola is diligently working to build Detroit’s future. By helping define American luxury through American quality, Shinola produces a handful of items the old fashioned way, by hand — and right here in America.

Constructing their watches, bags, wallets and journals in the heart of Detroit, Shinola doesn’t skip a beat when it comes to perfection. Wanting only the best, Shinola works directly with the Horween Leather Company, one of the last American leather production companies that do full in house production, from the raw unprocessed hide, to the final finished product. Based out of Chicago, the Horween Leather Company has been handcrafting leather goods in America since 1905.

Also helping with the leather products of Shinola is another American independently owned manufacturing company, Hadley-Roma from Florida, also opening their doors in 1905. Having made a commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and customer service, Hadley-Roma has become America’s sole remaining manufacturer of leather straps in the United States.

Shinola also produces their own bicycles, with the frames manufactured here in America by Waterford Precision Cycles in Wisconsin and assembled in Detroit. Have you bought from the made in America company Shinola? We’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
